For this project we did the muscular and skeletal systems. To model the skeletal system we created a rib cage. It was shaped like a rectangular prism with three sides made out of plywood and the fourth made out of 10 1x2s which each represented two ribs, making a total of 20 (a human actually has 24 ribs but we wanted to represent the function of the rib cage rather than the exact dimensions).
In order to model the muscular system, we used a frosting bag to represent the smooth muscles lining the intestine and the frosting in the bag as the excrement in the intestine.
to model the muscular and skeletal systems working together, we created a leg out of three pieces of wood. We used nails as the joints between them and strings acting as the muscles. We then used popsicle sticks to restrict the movement of the joints.
content
Circulatory system - Pumps blood (which contains oxygen and nutrients) through the body.
Integumentary system - consists of skin, hair, fat and tendons.
Reproductive system - the sex organs, responsible for reproduction.
Digestive system - consists of the teeth, esophagus, stomach, and intestines. responsible for breaking down food into nutrients.
Excretory system - Includes the kidneys, ureters, and bladder. It gets rid of unwanted substances in the bloodstream.
Respiratory system - consists of the pharynx, larynx, bronchi, lungs, and diaphragm.
Endocrine system - Consists of numerous glands throughout the body responsible for secreting hormones.
Nervous system - Responsible for messaging throughout the body.
Skeletal system - Acts as structural support and protection with bones, cartilage, ligaments, and tendons.
Muscular system - Responsible for movement of the body, the blood and the digestive system.
Skeletal muscle - Muscles that move the skeleton in order to move the body.
Smooth muscles - Muscles found lining the intestine, they move food through it.
Cardiac muscles - Muscles that are found in the heart pumping blood through the body.

reflection
I think my group did very well this project. One thing that my group and I did well was doing everything that was required. We always looked at the project description to make sure we did everything that we had to. A second thing that we did well was cooperate. We made sure that everyone had something to do and contributed to the project. A third thing that we did well was plan out the project, we knew exactly what to do each time and it helped us finish ahead of time. There were also some things that could have been done better. One of these is that I was absent for two days. I will make sure not to be sick next time and be present to help my group. A second thing that we could have done better is research our body systems, I feel like we could have included more details about every organ. A final thing that we could have improved was our leadership. I feel like not having a strong leader lead to us wasting our time making decisions.
